Turbo N 4040 Nitrogen / Protein Analyzer

Speed of Analysis

Analysis time varies according to sample size and type but generally is in the range of 2-3 minutes. There is no faster analyzer of this type.

Software

The Turbo N is controlled entirely from a PC. You can even use a laptop if you prefer. It is simple to operate and has very powerful diagnostic and reporting capabilities. All functions; gas flow rates, temperatures, sample timing functions, as well as Automatic Wake Up and Standby are set in the software. Multiple Calibrations can be created and used for different sample types with varying nitrogen concentrations.

Cost of analysis

High capacity catalysts, low He usage, and milliliters of oxygen instead of liters for combustion make the Turbo N 4040 a low cost analyzer. The maintenance free water removal drying tube and self regenerating CO2 traps means no constant replacing of costly reagents for water and CO2 removal.

A "Wake Up" function in the software turns the temperatures up and the gases on so you can get started first thing in the morning. A "He saving system" further reduces gas usage during instrument downtime by switching the He to a reduced flow.

Sample Size

Sample size depends on type and density but normal sample weight taken would be between 100 and 500 milligrams.

Autosampling capability

A 40 position Autosampler, model PN120, comes standard on the Turbo N. It is very rugged, very reliable, and user serviceable. Two additional sample carousels allow for up to 120 consecutive analyses.

The low background of atmospheric contamination (nitrogen) from the autosampler means that very low levels of nitrogen can be determined.
